Senior Computational Scientist

Snowdon seeks a Senior Computational Scientist to join our Drug Discovery team. The successful candidate will have recognized expertise and demonstrated success in the utilization of computational techniques to aid in the discovery and optimization of drug candidates, and will be expected to have a close familiarity with commercially available computer-assisted drug design applications. The Senior Computational Scientist will also use proprietary computational applications to provide pharmacophore, homology, QSAR, and other models to assist in the rational design, selection and optimization of leads. Experience in obtaining and manipulating crystallographic data, iterative structure- and activity-guided lead optimization, three-dimensional pharmacophore prediction, informatics, ligand docking methodology, ADME/Tox and pharmaceutical parameter prediction, quantum mechanical calculations, and statistical mechanical calculations is required. It is essential that the Senior Computational Scientist have a firm understanding of the precepts of organic and medicinal chemistry and the ability to communicate freely and work closely with Snowdon medicinal chemists and biologists as well as management.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in computational chemistry, physical chemistry, or a closely related discipline and will have accumulated between 5 and 10 years experience in an industrial organization.
